What is the distance from the back of the lorry to where the concrete can be poured?
The distance from the back of the lorry including the extendable shoot is approx. 1.8 meters.
Are there any charges if I cancel?
Cancellation charges are incurred if deliveries are cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. The charge is £20.00 per m3 ordered.
Can temperature and weather conditions affect the concrete?
We advise not to lay concrete when the temperature is under 5 degrees centigrade. Also please be aware that if the weather is particularly hot or windy this can affect the slump of the concrete and may cause it to cure quicker than normal.
I’m going to be unloading the concrete with a wheel barrow, how long will this take?
The time varies depending on how many people are on site and how many wheelbarrows are available. It takes approx. 20 wheelbarrow loads per m3. Please bear in mind weighting time charges may apply over the inclusive time.
Delivery timeframes
We aim to deliver your concrete at the time requested however due to delays being possible on previous sites we cannot always guarantee times. If we are due to be more than an hour late for your delivery then we will contact you to advise of the delay. Usually time slots of 1 hour are given to reduce the risk of late deliveries.
Health & Safety
There is a real danger of contact dermatitis or serious burns if skin comes into contact with wet cement mixes such as fresh concrete, mortar or screed. Wear suitable protective clothing and eye protection. Where skin contact occurs either directly or through saturated clothing wash immediately with soap and water. For eye contact, immediately wash out the eyes thoroughly with clean water. If swallowed wash out mouth and drink plenty of water.
How much do concrete do I need?
We are not able to quantify the amount of concrete required, please use the online concrete calculator below.
If you order too much concrete then it will need to be disposed of somewhere on site. If this is not possible it can be returned to the plant however this is charged at £95 per m3 with a minimum charge of 1m3.
How do I pay?
Maxi RMC are able to accept card payments over the phone or online for concrete deliveries if you do not hold an account.
If you would like to open an account with Maxi please contact us and a member of the sales team will be in touch.
Please note we are not able to accept any payments in cash.
What is the weight per m3 of concrete?
The approx. weight of 1m3 of concrete is 2.3 tonnes.
Waiting times / inclusive times?
There is a minimum of 30 minutes waiting time included for every order. For orders of 6m3 and over we allow 5 minutes per cubic meter, for minimix loads we allow 7.5 minutes per cubic meter and for flowing screed / concrete products we allow 10 minutes per cubic meter. If you exceed the stated inclusive times then the charge is £180.00 + VAT per hour, pro rata.
Changing / cancelling orders?
Orders can be amended / cancelled, e.g. mix, increase in quantity, up to the point of batching the concrete. Please note that concrete must be cancelled a minimum of 24 hours prior to delivery, if a delivery is cancelled after this time then a charge of £20.00 + VAT per m3 ordered is chargeable. This is due to cancellations affecting the scheduling for the day as we may not then be able to fill the timeslot with another delivery.
