Maxi Readymix in the Leicester Mercury for the second time …
We recently featured in the Leicester Mercury for the second time in an article talking about how our growth has created new jobs.
In just 18 months, we have gone from seven members of staff to 17, and this number is set to rise over the next year.
We have also increased the amount of aggregate on site from 1,500 tonnes to 5,000 tonnes.
As our director, James explains,
“The reason we decided to expand our capacity is because it’s not unusual for someone to ring us up and ask for a large order for the next day. By increasing the amount of tonnes of aggregate we have on site, we can supply the demand from our increasing customer base.”
We were also featured in an article two years ago, where we voiced our intention to expand and create more jobs following the installation of our new plant and machinery.
The new technology installed creates a controlled environment as it captures the dust clouds from the concrete, which are then recycled instead of being released into the atmosphere.
And our investment in the plant and new machinery has certainly paid off as we are constantly attracting new business, while maintaining excellent levels of customer retention.
We researched plant manufacturing technologies available globally before deciding on the Liebherr German plant, a Betamix twin shaft wet batch plant. Microwave moisture sensors monitor the water content in the sand and gravels. This is to ensure that the correct level of water is added as required.
This technology has put us at the forefront of concrete production facilities in the East Midlands area and it’s great to have this recognised in an influential publication like the Leicester Mercury.
We deliver to both commercial and domestic markets and can cater for large or small quantities of concrete from the wide range of Maxi branded products.
Our vehicles can agitate the amount of concrete required for each individual customer project and, if preferred, instead of having the concrete delivered our customers can collect the order directly from the plant in Whetstone.
By investing in the latest technology and developing an extensive range of products to supply a wide range of customer requirements, we aim to continue to be one of the area’s leading suppliers of ready mixed concrete.
